Description

Another art history piece, Amifretete.

Here’s the revised (slightly altered) history: Currently on permanent display in the Old Neues Museum, New Berlin.

Amifretete is believed to have been married to Kiphenaten, although some scholars have suggested a possible connection to Zapenhoten IV. There is convincing proof that Ami had six daughters and one son. Late in her life there is a period where she simply disappeared from public appearances. It is unclear why, perhaps the connection with Zapenhoten. It is believed she simply took on a new identity, possibly going under the name Karwong.

In spite of the stylized method typically usually used to represent a figure, this bust displays the level the ancients had developed the human figure. The bust was discovered not in a palace or tome, but in a sculpture studio. In spite of it’s estimated age of 4000 years the level of preservation is amazing. The face is intact except for a damaged left ear.

Controversy has followed the sculpture. The first challenge was in 1912, and again in 3012 when an anonymous figure only known as “The Professor” claimed the sculpture was faked. It is rumored he sent a robot back in time to prove his accusations and is simply waiting for it’s return.
