benders trick

Lots going on behind this drawing.

This is my first collaberation. Frygirl let me have a go at her drawing.

It was tough to draw like somebody else. I had to re-do the figure several times to eliminate my style and use her base.



One change I did make was to have her looking up, the ray just clips her hair. Another subtle thing, I don't know if this was planned, but Leela has "elbow talons", maybe from the alley scene in "Beast With A Billion Backs".

A little detail is Benders antena sticking out through his hat.

Leela is in a YEOW! costume and if you read deep into Frygirls comments Leela has "volunteered" to help Bender with his magic act. And I went from there.

One of the most common magicians illusions is to cut the assistant in half. So how would that be done in the year 3009? I tried three or four versions and then it hit me. Stupidly simple! It's done with mirrors!

Oh by the way, which is the real image of Leela? There are only four to choose from, well, five if you count the extra hair section.
